By making a booking at Red Sky at Night Campsite, guests confirm they have read, understood and agreed to the following Terms & Conditions.
Full payment is required to secure your booking.
Your booking is only confirmed once payment has been received.
We reserve the right to refuse bookings where reasonably necessary, including where a booking would breach our campsite rules, group policy or safety requirements.
As a small family-run campsite, cancellations can have a significant impact on us.
Cancellations made more than 7 days before arrival may receive either:
A refund, less any reasonable booking/administration costs and losses incurred as a result of the cancellation; or
One date transfer, to be used within 12 months of the original booking date, subject to availability.
For cancellations made within 7 days of arrival, refunds or transfers are not normally offered. Any cancellation will, however, be dealt with in accordance with your statutory consumer rights.
Refunds will not normally be given for early departures, unused nights or guests choosing to leave early for personal reasons.
Camping is an outdoor experience and guests should expect changing weather and ground conditions.
Poor weather does not in itself constitute grounds for a refund or date transfer where the campsite remains open and the booked camping stay can still be provided.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Rain
Wind
Mud
Cold temperatures
Hot weather
Storms or poor weather forecasts
Prolonged dry weather or drought conditions
Wildfire risk
Fire restrictions or fire bans
Guests are responsible for checking weather forecasts and arriving appropriately prepared for outdoor camping conditions.
During periods of exceptionally hot or dry weather, drought or increased wildfire risk, we reserve the right to restrict or completely prohibit campfires, fire bowls, BBQs and other naked flames where we consider this reasonably necessary for safety.
Restrictions may be introduced or changed at short notice if conditions deteriorate.
A fire restriction or fire ban does not constitute cancellation of the camping stay and does not in itself entitle guests to a refund or date transfer where the campsite remains open and the booked stay can still be provided.
Where safe to do so, certain cooking equipment such as gas camping stoves may remain permitted. Guests must follow the restrictions communicated by the campsite at the time of their stay.
If circumstances mean that Red Sky at Night Campsite itself has to cancel a booking or close and cannot provide the booked stay, guests' statutory rights will apply.
Guests must only pitch in designated camping areas.
Please respect the stated check-in and check-out times.
Please do not exceed the maximum number of people permitted per pitch.
We reserve the right to amend pitch locations where reasonably necessary for safety, ground conditions, farm operations or the running of the campsite.
Children must be appropriately supervised by a responsible adult.
This includes woodland areas, the mud café, den-building areas, slackline, natural play spaces and areas around fires, farm equipment, fencing and livestock.
The campsite contains natural features and hazards including uneven ground, mud, tree roots, slopes and trip hazards.
Parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising children and assessing whether activities and natural play areas are suitable for them.
Fires are only permitted in designated fire bowls and only when current campsite conditions and rules allow.
Fire bowls and permitted fires must never be left unattended.
Guests must ensure fires are fully extinguished before leaving them or going to bed.
Only completely cold ash should be disposed of in designated ash bins.
During dry weather, extreme heat, drought or increased wildfire risk, we may restrict or completely prohibit fires, BBQs and other naked flames.
Guests must comply immediately with any fire restrictions in place and with any request from campsite staff to extinguish a fire.
Failure to comply with a fire ban or fire-safety instruction may result in guests being required to leave the campsite.
Red Sky at Night is a peaceful, rustic, off-grid campsite surrounded by nature and working farmland.
Guests are expected to:
Respect wildlife, woodland and surrounding farmland.
Leave pitches clean and tidy.
Take all rubbish and recycling home unless specifically instructed otherwise.
Leave the campsite as they would wish to find it.
Avoid damaging trees, fencing, woodland areas or natural habitats.
Dogs are welcome but must remain on leads at all times.
Owners must clean up after their dogs.
Owners are responsible for their dogs' behaviour throughout their stay.
Excessive barking, uncontrolled behaviour or aggression may result in guests being asked to remove the dog from the campsite or, where necessary, end their stay.
To help maintain the peaceful atmosphere of Red Sky at Night Campsite, large groups are only permitted by prior agreement or when booking exclusive use of the campsite.
We do not allow multiple individual bookings to be made with the intention of circumventing our group-booking policy and camping together as one large group.
Where we reasonably believe separate bookings have been made for this purpose, we reserve the right to refuse or cancel those bookings.
Day visitors are welcome only as friends or family of guests staying at the campsite.
Day visitors are charged at £5 per person.
Visiting hours are 10:00am–9:00pm.
Day visitors must be arranged by the guest staying on the campsite and the campsite must be informed before they arrive.
We reserve the right to refuse or limit visitors where reasonably necessary for capacity, safety, security or the enjoyment of other campers.
Guests are responsible for ensuring their visitors follow campsite rules.
Red Sky at Night is a peaceful, family-friendly campsite.
Please be respectful of fellow campers, neighbouring properties and surrounding farmland.
Loud music, disruptive behaviour and excessive noise are not permitted.
Guests are asked to keep noise to a respectful level, particularly during evening and night-time hours.
Vehicles must be driven slowly and responsibly around the campsite.
Please park only in designated areas or at your pitch where permitted.
Unnecessary vehicle movement around the campsite should be avoided, particularly when children are playing.
Red Sky at Night Campsite is situated on a working farm and in a natural countryside environment.
Guests should be aware of normal countryside and farm hazards, including:
Uneven ground
Mud and slippery surfaces
Livestock
Electric fencing
Farm machinery and vehicles
Fires where permitted
Woodland
Tree roots and branches
Insects and wildlife
Natural trip and fall hazards
Guests are expected to take reasonable care for their own safety and supervise children appropriately.
For the safety and security of guests, property and campsite facilities, CCTV/security cameras may operate in certain areas of the campsite.
Cameras are used for legitimate safety, security and crime-prevention purposes.
Cameras are not installed within private toilet facilities or other areas where guests would reasonably expect complete privacy.
Red Sky at Night is an off-grid, back-to-nature campsite and our facilities are intentionally simple and rustic.
Only toilet paper and human waste may be placed in the compost toilets. Please follow any instructions displayed.
We do not provide chemical toilet disposal, Elsan disposal, grey-water disposal or motorhome/campervan waste-disposal facilities.
Chemical toilets, grey water or other waste must not be emptied anywhere on the campsite, farm or surrounding land.
Guests are expected to take their general rubbish and recycling home with them unless otherwise instructed.
Temporary interruptions to facilities or water pressure may occasionally occur due to the off-grid/rural nature of the campsite and working farm.
Guests are responsible for damage caused deliberately or negligently by themselves, children, dogs, visitors or members of their booking party.
Reasonable charges may be made for repairing or replacing damaged campsite property.
We reserve the right to refuse entry or require guests to leave where reasonably necessary because of serious or repeated breaches of campsite rules, including:
Abusive, threatening, dangerous or seriously disruptive behaviour.
Ignoring important campsite or fire-safety rules.
Excessive noise or behaviour significantly affecting other campers.
Unauthorised group bookings.
Unauthorised visitors.
Deliberate or serious damage to the campsite, farm or natural environment.
Behaviour that places people, animals, property or the surrounding countryside at risk.
Where a stay is ended because of a guest's serious breach of these Terms & Conditions, any entitlement to a refund will depend on the circumstances and applicable consumer law.
Guests are responsible for taking reasonable care of themselves, their children, pets, vehicles and belongings while staying at Red Sky at Night Campsite.
We are not responsible for loss, damage or injury caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control or by a guest's own actions, negligence or failure to follow reasonable campsite and safety instructions.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects guests' statutory consumer rights.
By making a booking, guests confirm they have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
The person making the booking is responsible for making the other members of their booking party aware of these Terms & Conditions and campsite rules.
